Annual Women's Health Exam

In Seattle, women’s health exams are recommended annually. In some cases a women’s health exam is only needed every two years. In my Seattle primary care practice I suggest that women come in every year for their exam if insurance allows it.

By seeing you once a year we are able to get caught up on how things are going and talk about any concerns you may have had throughout the year.

Annual women’s health exams typically involve taking an interval history so I know how you've been since I last saw you. We will also discuss whether there is laboratory blood work needed such as cholesterol, blood sugar, iron, vitamin D or thyroid screening. I will refill any ongoing prescriptions for up to a year and I will discuss new prescription needs. These prescriptions may be birth control, bio identical hormones, hormone replacement therapy or other non-women’s health related needs.

Womens Health Exam Seattle

The women’s health exam that I offer is comprehensive and thorough.

When I do a women's reproductive health exam, which includes a breast and pelvic exam, I include a full exam of one's head, neck, heart and abdomen. I also review monthly self-breast exam, talk you through the pelvic portion of the physical exam and do sexually transmitted disease testing along with a PAP smear if indicated.

Part of the time is spent discussing preventive health practices. I will also go over your usual diet and exercise and review the vitamins and supplements you’re taking, or might want to take.

My goal is to spend time with you to be sure all your questions get answered.

Please join me in a conversation about your health.
